About Us

Why we are here

Welcome to the charity dedicated to preserving the memory of Mrs. Juliana Antwi (1931-1999). Auntie Julie as she was affectionately known was a Social Worker and a loving wife and mother who dedicated her life to helping underprivileged children.

A native of Yabi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, Auntie Julie lost her battle to Stroke in 1999. We miss Auntie Julie constantly, and put together this website so that others who knew and loved her around the world, as well as those that were not so lucky, can continue to have Auntie Julie bring them joy through her dedication to children and their well being.

About the fund

JAMfund was establised as a private family charity in 2009, initially rendered financial support to an Orphanage just outside Kumasi the capital of the Ashanti Region of Ghana. During a visit by Tim Boateng (son of Auntie Julie) to the All Nations Charity Home at Ayigya near University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in early 2009, Tim was able to see and hear of the desperate plight of many of the Children and the state of the Orphanage.

Determined to make the idea of JAMfund a reality, Tim contacted relatives and friends who over the years had been helping many orphaned children. From this small but humble beginning, JAMfund begun and aims to help meet the basic human needs and many more in the country.

The sad reality is that there are too many children in need of help and too few local families that can afford to help. Though there are many high profile agencies within Ghana they seem unable to address the immediate, local, one to one help, that Jamfund is committed to provide.

JAMfund is registered in Ghana but primarily run from the UK. The main work is to raise funds, generated privately through friends and family, for projects in Ghana that solve the aims of JAMFund. Additionally, the team is responsible for controlling and managing these funds, identifying and facilitating the project needs in Ghana. These projects are mainly personally seen to and driven through by our founder Tim Boateng, who is in a special position in that, aside his knowledge of Ghana and fluent Akan speaking skills, has belief in a hands on approach and visits Ghana regularaly as part of his devoted time and commitment.
